Ruptured Ovarian Cyst

Ovarian cysts are normal for most women. They usually occur during one’s pregnancy period, and also during pre and post menopausal stage. Generally, these membrane enclosed liquid entities derived from ovarian follicles are not dangerous. Ninety five percent of the diagnosed cysts are found to be benign, meaning they are not cancerous at all. Symptoms of an ovarian cyst are usually not seen nor felt by the person. It is usually detected through ultrasound or CT scan, two medical procedures that you would only have on physical examinations. Symptoms related to pain and other effects begin when what you have became a ruptured ovarian cyst.

Ovarian Cyst symptoms begin when it becomes a ruptured ovarian cyst. From there, you will experience gradual to severe pains in your lower abdomen, thighs, lower back and vagina. Mostly, you will experience a sharp, piercing pain in your lower abdomen. You will also feel pains before and after your menstrual period, apart from having a lot of spotting or bleedings that will occur randomly. At times, some women may end up having their menstrual period stop altogether brought about by the said cyst.

You will also notice yourself bloating, as you will also experience weight gain as an effect of a ruptured ovarian cyst. At times, you will also feel nausea and experience vomiting. Severe dizziness and faint spells will also be felt. Irregular menstruation, urination and difficulty in bowl movement will also be experienced. At worst, it could cause infertility to the woman and she might end up having a hard time having a baby.

When you find out that you have an ovarian cyst, it is always advised to immediately have it removed as soon as it is still possible. It is much better to have it removed at an early stage, because a ruptured cyst can pose life threatening situations. It could bring a lot of complications such as hemorrhage and infection if not immediately attended to. Usually, when an ovarian cyst is detected, you are advised to take hormonal pills when it is still small. As soon as it measures around five centimeters, mostly recurring and a persistent type of ovarian cyst, a surgery is usually suggested in order to immediately remove the mass and submit it under biopsy, to confirm that it is benign and will not pose any threat to your health.

It is important to become aware of the things going on in your body. You should remember not to pass off any pain you will feel as something temporary. An occurrence so normal to a woman’s body as having an ovarian cyst might end up being malignant and terminal if not cared for properly. It is important that you give ample judgment and time about it, so as for you to know the proper steps in having it treated and avoided. Most importantly, always seek medical advice from medical professionals such as doctors, for they are the one who will know the proper way to conduct a proper treatment, and ensure that you will be kept safe and healthy.
